For Miss Rutter
Take four ounces of rose Water, three ounces of aq. Cin. simpl., half an ounce of Syrup of cloves and two grains of Tartar Emetic. Mix. Label: Diaphoretic Mixture, one spoonful every morning and night.
This dose should
make her a little Sick & is to be increased or diminished accordingly
but as the same dose will affect her more in the morning than at Night
she may make her Evening Dose larger
Take one ounce of Soluble Tartar, half an ounce each of sea Salt and Spanish polychrest, six ounces of spring water, two ounces of Peppermint Water. Dissolve, strain and label: Laxative Solution, a tablespoonful or two to be taken for a Dose in half a pint of new Cow milk whey- or Water in the Morning in two Draughts -
This Medicine is to be taken twice a week, but only in
case the Diaphoretic Mixture does not keep her belly regular
↑when she takes this she is to let alone the [Diaphoretic Mixture?] on these days↑ - & the dose should
give her one easy motion or at most two.-- Let her avoid all fish- &
take a good deal of Vegetable at Dinner & no Meat Suppers.- Ordinary drink
good small beer rather than Water - & at Dinner a glass or two of
white wine either plain or with Water. The above for 2 3 or more weeks. &c.
