The Case of Mrs. Margaret Logie Aged 26 years
of a tender delicate constitution From her
Infancy complained of pains in her Stomach and
Guts owing as She thinks to a hurt or bruize
upon
the parts, Which however did not con¬
fine her but went about doing her ordinary
business Untill the Year 1777 when She was
Seiz'd with violent pains in her Stomach and
Guts a
Swelling on her Stomach which in¬
creased to a considerable degree
attended with
costiveness, reaching and feverish Symptoms.
In this way, She continued for Some months
much distressed with the pain &c: Then She
began to Vomit great quantitys at different
times of a Clotted Blood and matter
and
passed of the Same Matter by Stool
, then the
Swelling and
hardness Subsyded a little and for
Some Months She was in a tolerable good way

The Same complaints returning frequently
has reduced her to very great weakness,
Altho She does not presently not indeed
for Some time passed throwen up any of that
Bloody matter
Her Stomach retains very
little of any Aliment She takes
and
what She do's throw up now is of an Acid
disagreeable taste and Smell
-


The Hardness and Swelling complaind of
is not now on her Stomachbut in the
lower Belly Upon the left Side of the
Umbilicus, She complains also much
of a pain and weakness in the Small of
her back
, difficulty in Voiding her Urine
which Upon Standing a little time is of
a whitish Colour and of the consistance of
a thin jelly- She Sleeps very little, Her
Appetite & digestion bad
and a great thirst

Her Menses Irregular and Much troubled with
the Fluor Albus
-


About five Months ago She was Seized with ↑a↑ Cold
and Shivering which was Succeeded with a pro¬
fuse Sweat
and Since that time has had
frequent returns of it- Advice & prescrip¬
tion is earnestly wished for and expected
by first Opportunity
