In answer to Doctor Cullens
queries the Lady desires to acquaint him she
is perfectly regular in every respect she
never observ'd the wakefulness come at any
particular times but was always most subject
to it when either efected by joy or greef,
after want of rest a night or two feels a heat
in herr
stomach & a considerable thirst but
never drinks any thing but a mouthful
of cold ↑water↑ which is very gratifying but seldom
takes it, but in {illeg} this last attack of the
wakefulness has been less troubled with
the starting & palpitation at her heart
than formerly, She has no great degree of
flatalency but as want of rest rather
impaire's her apetite has a greater tenden¬
cy to it then than at any other time,
the pain & weakness in her back does not
seem an atendant of the wakefulness as she
is often subject to it when she sleeps well
it appears to her as if the joints of her back
were uncomonly relax'd particularly the
under most one lifting any trifiling weight
or even streaching out her arms always
efects it or brings it on, & is often to such a

degree that shes unable to walk ten yards
& walking up one flight of stairs puts
her out of breath, but agrees extremely
well with the carriage exercise or on
hors back particularly the Latter when
her back since the birth
of her Last child which was about
five years ago till then she was very
healthy tho never of a robust constitution
Last Summer when she was attack'd with
want of rest was much distressed with
palpitation and starting which seem'd to
efect every nerve & joint even to the point
of her fingers
but to the greatest degree
when going to sleep but it never efects her
health in any other respect
The above is as minutely her situation as
can be describ'd
