Pleurisy
At this period denoted the condition marked by 'pain in the chest or the side, esp. when stabbing in nature and exacerbated by inspiration or coughing; an instance of this; any disease resulting in such pain' (OED ). (only later used specifically to describe inflammation of the pleura).
