Sir

Our Patient Mr. Garthshore complains of pains of his
Stomach and Guts attended with sickness or squeamishness especi¬
ally when his Stomach is emptie which He says goes off im¬
mediately after eating. He seems to have no symptoms of
the Plethora, His Pulse is generally regural, tongue clean,
the appearance of his Urine changeable, his Belly for
the most part regular tho'at times He is seized with
a Diarrhœa
which continues for some very violent for a few
hours but does not fatigue him much. Some time ago after
taking a few ounces a blood
I gave Him a Vomit which
made him throw up a vast quantity of tough roppy Phlegm
and in an hour after eat his dinner with appetite.
His appetite for the most part is rather good - He has
now & then taken I. rhei & Elixr. Sacr. and to day I have
ordered Him the Elixir of Vitriol He has used no other
medicine. Question. Is it not probable he has worms He tells
me Mr. Young cured Him of that complaint some years ago.
I shall be glad to have your advice assoon as convenient
