For Miss Corner


The small Tumour & hardness may be trouble¬
some to remove, but hope it may in time and to prevent
its giving any trouble advise the following Medicines

Take two ounces of the best Olive Oil, half an ounce of succinate, twenty drops of Lavender, Mix. Label: Discutient Oil for anointing the Tumour & hardness - to be a little warmed - & a little of it to be rubbed in with the finger every night at bedtime The part at all other times to be covered with flannel.

Take two drachms Liquorice extract. Cut into small pieces in a glass or stone mortar, pour in a sufficient quantity of hot water so as to [soften?] extract and into which bruised pulp add three drachms powdered dry cicuta [dried for use?]. so as to make a mass divisible into single pills of five grains. Label: Aperient Pills - To begin with one Pill every night & morning & continue that for three days, if they do not in that time occasion any sickness at stomach, any con¬ fusion or giddiness of head or any trembling in her arms & legs she may take two pills for a Dose & thus every third day increase by one Pill per dose till they produce the above effects & where she has got at the proper dose continue them for a month.


During this course she should take very little exercise
particularly bodily exercise; but in a carriage or on a horse¬
back it may be of service - Avoid being heated in any way


Diet most milk & vegetables & very moderately of
animal food. No stronger drink than plain water
