For Mr Lidderdale


The Disease is in his kidnies & perhaps the neck of
his Bladder, probably


1. Must use very moderate Exercise


2. Diet - not a full Diet of animal food, nor without it
be proper entirely a Vegetable Diet -


Drink.- the strictest temperance- A little Madeira
or a go- or Sherry with a good deal of Water is all that
can be allowed. ----


For Mr L.

Take one ounce of Gum Arabic, three ounces of Spring water Dissolve and strain add one ounce of Balsam syrup two drachms of Sweet spirit of nitre two scruples of Saltpetre. Mix. Label: Emollient Solution. A tablespoon in a large glass full of water several times a day.

Take half a drachm of Camphor, an ounce and a half of Saltpetre. After adding a drop of Rectified alcohol you will crush them together very well and add two drachms of Extract of Liquoricepreviously beaten to a pulp in a little water; let a mass to be divided into thirty pills be made. Label: Anodyne Pills. Take two at bedtime.

Take three-and-a-half ounces of Russian castor oil, and half-an-ounce of Jamaican Rum. Mix. Label: Laxative Oil, a tablespoonful or a little less in the morning, only when costiveness requires it, etc.
