The Solution has agreed so well & had such an
equal Effect that it has been seldom necessary
to vary the Dose and as she was not obligd
to follow the Times of the Tide she has both
bathd & taken the Solution on the same
Day unless prevented by bad Weather at
which Time she continued the Solution


The Sores after being washd for above a
Week with the Solution of Sugar of Lead
became clear of Scab when they were dressd
with the Ointment
which has been continued
ever since & has kept them clean & open
yet they do not appear to heal, the Edges
are rather softer & the upper Sore near the
Ear
has always discharged a little Matter
but the lower one not any yet there appears
on close Examination to be an oozing of a
[g]lutinous Fluid
from the Surface which if

left to itself for a few Days becomes a kind
of Rind or Crust
. In Respect to her Health &
appetite she appears perfectly well & has
grown lustier from her Sea bathing. it may
also be necessary to remark that there is
generally a kind of Scurf round her Eye Lids
& Lips of the scorbutic Kind.
