Miss Henrieta Ross aged thirteen years rather of a delicate
Constitution tho generally healthy But about two Months ago
She became indolent and discovered an inclination to ly upon her
Bed and afterwards began to complain of pain in the right
Side a little below the Breast which continued in the same place
for sometime, but of late extended over the Stomach to the left side
The pain in the right Side continuing the same as at first, Since
the commencement of the pain in the right Side She could not ly
with Ease upon it, nor can She now ly with Ease upon the
left Side, during this Complaints She complained also of a
Pain in the lower parts of her Belly, Neither the pains in her
Sides, or Belly are Violent, tho frequent, Sleeps pretty well,
Her Appetite almost gone, her flesh falling off, her pulse good,
At first her Urine was high coloured, and disposed some Sediment
Catamenia never appeared, her tongue Clean, but of late much
thirst; About five weeks ago She was blooded, and about Eight days
thereafter had a blister applied to the right Side, about Ten days
ago, the subjoined Bolus was given three Nights Successively at
Bed time, and after an interval of one day a dose of Pulv. Rhei,
which operated sufficiently, during the time She was taking the Bolus
She got in the morning, three drachms of Pulv. Stan. cum Cons. Rosar. &c For
three mornings, These Medicines procured no relief except to remov¬
ing the pain in the Belly for a few days, For these last Eight
days, She has got El: Vitriol: acid twenty drops cum Aqua omne mane, and
About three ounces ter de die et Decoct. ad [Idericos?] Pharmacopœia Edinburgensis --
which has produced no Alteration, Her Breath has at times, or
rather generally a Nauseous Smell but not Sourish, her Stools natural,
