Cookhill January12th: 1780
Sir


I have received your prescriptions, and have
apply'd the healing Syrup which proves beneficial to
my Tongue, and throat, and has dispersed the Humour
to the inside of my Jaws and Lips, where I can bear it
much better; The Whole of my Complaints exists in
these parts at Least principally, my Nerves were
always Weak
particularly my Hands; My appetite
is Good, & I sleep tollerably Well. My Cheif
Diet has been Milk, Hartshorn Jellys & Calves feet
Veal and Mutton Broths; I drank Asses Milk
Morning and Evening, for three months, my Physician
ordered me Cows Milk, I am Now drinking Lime
Water
& Milk but have not yet found any benefitt
I have taken great Quantities of Medicine but to No
good purpose Nor can any of the faculty yet
Employ'd Certify the Complaint more than by guess
I should be glad to be inform'd If I may Eat White
Meat or Broths ) Milk agrees with me very well
I have drunk No Wine or anything strong these
twelve months.) I had a pea once in my thigh but
it never discharged and causing me great pain
I had it taken out. My Leg is not quite Well
But the discharge from it is but very Small.
I have a particular tinging in the Tips of my fingers

Insted of the Glisters recommended by you I have
Hitherto made use of Castor Oile & Oile of
Syrrup of Roses, Which have found to answer
the purpose.) Wou'd you Sir recommend Exercise
as my Hopes of relief are dependant on you
Sir. I hope Will Excuse my taking up
so much of your time in the Stating of my
Case
