Sunday July the 6. 1777 --
Dr.
I am desired to write to you to
Acquaint you of your Patient Mr.
John Grey.
I can't find any Alteration
he complains of ↑being↑ violently Griped
which he Supposes from the pills
and Infusion. when he has omitted
taking them, he ↑is↑ equally griped and
Generally before he has a Stool
which is twice in 24 hours & sometimes
oftner. If you approve of Allowing
an anodyne at night which he
thinks gives him ease - or whatever
Alteration you think best --
The pain in his back is at times
very acute. The liniment volatile has
been used and being desirous of having
a plaster applyed to oblige him lay'd
on one on the Spine but finds no
Alteration --

which I hope will be of service your directions as
to diet are followed as much as possible &c ----
His Urine & complexion much the same the Stools
of a tolerable consistence after drinking his Negus
his urine sometimes is Whiter ---
No Inflammation or pain in his side ---
