Dear Sir

Yesterday a Letter from your
Father to Dr Fraser & intended for my perusal
was sent me by the Dr whose state of health
is such at present that he could not answer it
but put it upon me. It contain'd the inclos'd
state of your sisters case, whose distress gives
me very great concern, and your Father is
desirous that you should take Dr Cullen's advice
upon it. The Doctor was consulted about her
in Winter 1765 when she was very ill with
Vomitings, headachs and a train of Nervous
complaints
. He may probably still have notes
of her case by him & of his prescription which
besides keeping an easy Belly by Tinct. Sacra, &

warm bathing her Legs, friction & regular
Exercise on borseback, consisted chiefly of
the Elix. Vitriol. given twice or thrice a day.
This advice was followed, & she ws somewhat
the better for it, but she continued long in
a poor state of health notwithstanding.
The present case is drawn up by the surgeon
at Fort augustus who attends her and when
the Doctor has considered it & given you
his Opinion, you will lose no time in
transmitting it to me. Meantime I have
written to the young Gentleman at Fort augustus
& sent him what I thought might be
of most use & desir'd that he would inform
me every post how she goes on.

I hope Charles has sent you all the

papers relative to the Mause affair,
inclos'd is the Sketch I mentiond in
my last which is only meant to show
you the relative situation of the Different
mauses & glebes, & to make you understand
better the description contain'd in the
proof.

With Compliments. to Mrs Fraser I am
Dear Sir yours sincerly
