Reply headed 'For the Revd. Mr Taylor', whose internal piles Cullen believes have been caused by 'a stagnatn. of faeces in ye Colon or upper part of the Rectum'. He recommends medicines and diet to relieve this constipation. Heavily contracted. Possibly for Dr Williamson (in Edinburgh?) to be forwarded to Watten? | 9 October 1776
[DOC ID:1340] |
Letter from James Taylor regarding his own case. | 7 January 1777
[DOC ID:1366] |
Partial copy of a letter from Mrs Morison Sinclair, concerning the case of Mr Taylor, minister of Watten, who had written to Dr Williamson. Since then, he has 'passed a greater Quantity of Blood these Three weeks past then he did for Three Months before', and has lost his appetite. His wife is unhappy that she cannot prevail upon him to send for the surgeon Mr Liddle or write directly to Williamson. Presumably Cullen must have been handed the whole of this letter (to an unknown addressee), but it is unclear exactly when and how. | 9 February 1777
[DOC ID:4004] |
