Notes
He was the son of George Sinclair and Lady Janet Sutherland and uncle to Captain Patrick Campbell. Of his many achievements, he is probably best known today for the publication of the First Statistical Account of Scotland between 1791 and 1799 in 21 volumes, detailing the geography, history, economy, and society of every parish. |
