Normalized Text

[Page 1]
For Mr John McKie Junr.

The weakness of your bowells continues & as
the Elixir has proved more laxative than I thought
it is an improper medicine for your case. Tho the
bitterness of mouth shew indigestion I do not insist
on your vomiting. The Chalybeate may be now
laid aside & returned to with the more benefit
against winter. In summer you must trust to
riding & cold bathing. You may try sea bathing
against the begining of June but must prepare
by a cold bathing at home for some days.

Wear your flannel shirt the whole summer.
You may take a little animal food. Be cautious in
garden things. Milk & grain can hardly ever be
improper.
