Doctor Alves C Sherreiff Campbell

I have supected a Disposition to his present state these thirty years -
I know nothing better to obviate the effects than the Regimen and Medicines
which I advised when he went north last - I have always thought that
a Journey was the most promising remedy for him, but I found it very
difficult to execute when he was here, and I fear it will be much more so
now. - If he you think he can be from home I would send him either
to Peterhead both to drink the waters and to bathe - Wheresoever he
is, riding is to be inculcated as much as possible -- I need not say to you
that if his heat and feverishness be as much as they were here, I would
not advise either the Chalybeate or cold bathing and would rather have
him persist in the LaxativeSolution or some other of a like kind
The choice of the two Courses of the Cooling or Strengthening kind I
must again leave to your discretion --

I dont suppose that his ailments depend alone upon external circumĀ¬
stances, but I shall be very happy to find that any incidental cause of that
kind is soon to be removed, and from this I would at least hope for some benefit -
