Dear Sir

Mrs Baillies great humanity & anxiety to
relieve the many distresssed objects that apply to her,
has induced her to inquire for cures wherever
she hears of any being performed, the two in¬
closed cases have been sent to her, the veracity
of them are undoubted, as she has been informed
that L: Lauderdales is your Patient, one for
whom she has a high esteem, she begged of me
to send you this account of the success of
the Aparine Vulgaris Goosegrass or Cleavers
the one in a Cancerous case the other a
[appearance?] of Leprosy or Herpes the last of which
she imagines L L. indisposition to be, she
will be glad to hear your opinion of
the Medicine & whether you may think
it worthy of a trial either in her case
or any other

I had a letter some time ago from the Presidents
of the Medical Society, which I find in general
to all their Members, I shall be happy if
they succeed in building a hall, if the Plan
goes on I shall remitt them two Guineas

I was sorry I had not the pleasure of [receiving?]
you in May when I was in Town, but [the?]
first time I am in Town, will certainly
contrive to spend an evening with you

My Poor Uncle's Widow your acquaintance
& his only Child have been with me on a
visit from Flanders for these five weeks
& are about returning to their own Country
she sends her compliments & has not forgot
your friendly attention to My Uncle during
his illness at Glasgow

I beg my best respects to Mrs Cullen I am
