For Mr Grames Daughter

From the account put into my hands
it appears that an obstruction of her Catamenie
is the foundation of her ailments & that the
removing of that obstruction must chiefly be
had in view.

For this purpose every morning let her feet
& legs be rubbed gently for some time with
a piece of warm flannel
or a flesh brush.

Two or three times a (↑every↑) week let her before
bedtime have her feet & legs put into warm
water for half an hour & if she could sometimes
bear to be sat up to the waist in warm water
for the sametime it might be of service.

Let her take of the aperient pills presen¬
ted below three twice a day that is some time
in the fore noon & again at bedtime washing
them down with a small cupfull of Pennyroyal
tea

Every morning let her take a draught of
Ewe milk whey but if that cannot be had let it
be cows milk.

[Page 2]

Her diet should be chiefly of Milk meats without
Flesh or Fish

If by these means she recovers as much
strength as to be carried abraod on horseback
Riding will be of Great service to her

For the tumor below her ear the Hemlock
Poultice is the best application that can be
tried

William Cullen

For Mr Grames Daughter

Take half a drachm each of asafoetida and ammoniaa, and one drachm each of powdered millipedes and elderberry rob. With a sufficient quantity of syrup of orange peel, make a pill mass divided into pills each of [nine?] grains. Label: Aperient Pills, three for a dose twice a day.
