For Mr Foster

Mr Fosters Ailments depend upon his Constitution & he
can only be relieved by a constant attention to a proper Regimen.
In Diet he must avoid too much Vegetables & particularly Fruit
& all kinds of Acid. –– He must take animal food for his ordi¬
nary fare but must take care to keep his stomach always light avoid the
more heavy meats & never make a full meal. –– His ordinary
drink should be wine & water. He must avoid all kind of Malt
liquors except a little good Porter in which however he should not go far.

He should be very temparate in strong Drink & the safest he
can take is a little Red Port or Madeira. –– If he takes Punch
it ought to be weak & without sowring. –– Tea and Coffee are
both very bad for him and he should make his breakfast of
weak chocolate or Cocoa Tea. –– He should take no
meat at Supper & the best for him will be some kind of milk
meat. –– He should use a good deal of Exercise. Even
walking is good for him but he should never be heated by it
Riding is better for him & he should be much in the fresh Air

He should be as regular as possible in his hours of
eating & sleeping & should always be very attentive in guarding
against Cold. –– To remove the present complaint of
his stomach & to keep his belly regular he should use the pills
prescribed below. He may take one, two, or three for a dose at
bedtime that is, so much as to keep his belly regular but not
so much as to purge.
