According to your Directions, Last
Saturday at 11 oClock A:M: I gave Mr
Sanderson 25 g:rs Pul: Dover: the sweat began
to appear about half an Hour after, ----
it came on excessive & remain'd for 8 hours,
his Pulse rose to a great degree, which
produc'd a vast Restlessness & Anxiety,
he had also great Inclination to pass
urine but cou'd get none made, ----
he was very impatient; at last I was
oblig'd to take off a Blanket to take
lessen the Sweat by Degrees, & then
shifted him with fresh warm flannels
he lay in bed all that Night untill
four oClock next Day P:M:
[Page 2]
when he got up he found the Complaints
much releiv'd, but in calling this morning
he inform'd me he had had a bad Night
& the Complaints return'd, his Urine
Deposits a great sediment of a light colour
with a blueish reflection, before your answer
can reach me he will take another of
the powders, if I should see any good
Effects from it shall let you know, if not,
will follow any further Directions you may
think Necessary to send
your most Obedient Servant
P:S:
It appears to me, that
(if he can bear the sweating)
it will be of more service
than most things he has taken
