Mrs Parker contd.
After the other letter which will be delivered to
you was Sealed, I had a further conversation with Mrs Parker
and found She had some other complaints besides that of her breast
and for those also I have promised to advise and on that account
trouble you with this other epistle. The complaints of her
Stomach seem to be no other than the common ones of weakness &
indigestion and they may probably be relieved by ↑a↑ light infusion
of the bark and orange peel in water for I would not have her
use a medicine made with any Spirituous menstruum and I
would not think it safe for the her to use much of the bark in
any Shape. Let her therefore take the infusion I have mentioned
at times only when her Stomach is more than usual uneasy --
When the heat and uneasiness in making water happens
She may for two or three days take twice a day a dose of Nitre
and prepared chalk of each half a dram and at Same time more
largely than usual drink water in every pint of which a dram
of Gum Arabic is dissolved.
I must take the opportunity of this Second letter to

Supply an omission in the former. This is to Say that I a[d]
mit of no application to the breast. Poultices of any kind a[re]
always and the hurtfull and the Solution of lead by my exp[e¬]
rience do no good and Sometimes harm. I am
