Sir

I have sent herewith two Parcels containing
1st. A parcel of Powders such as were sent before.
2d. Two Phials both marked Laxative Oil
3dly. A Phial marked Emollient Oil
4th. A Suspensory.

The Papers are to be employed in the same manner
as previously directed, that is, three to be taken every
day each of them in half a mutckin of water.

The Laxative Oil is for removing Costiveness
{illeg} preventing it by being taken twice a week.
When it is to be taken the Phial containing it
is to be shaken very carefully for some minutes
till the two liquors which it seems to contain
are very exactly mixed with one another. Then
a table spoonful is to be poured out for a dose
and swallowed immediately. This Oil is to Serve

[Page 2]

for both {illeg}. If upon trial a spoonfull is not [found?]
to be [a sufficient?] dose it may be increased by a spoonful
and half or two spoonfuls but it is enough if the
{illeg} moves the person once for purging is not
desired.

The other Phial marked Emollient Oil is to
be employed by yourself for an injection and you
are to throw in one full of the syringe every night
and morning.

I have Sent you a Suspensory Bandage which
I hope you will readily learn how to apply and
even to adjust it more exactly if necessary. It
will be of use if you can get a little dressed Wool
to make a sort of Compress to lay into the triangular
part of the Bandage which is to embrace the
testicles
and which will allow you to draw the
Bandage about the testicle a little more tightly.
You must never stir without this bandage
and even then you must walk as little as possible

[Page 3]

Besides this bandage and the use of the medicines
you may be the better for fomenting the testicle
every night and morning with a double ply
of flannel wrung out and wrung out very dry
or hot milk and water.

I have only to add further that if the swelling
of
the testicle shall continue with any thing
of inflammation it may be relieved by a Leech
or two set upon it
and the bleeding of which
will do more than bleeding at the Arm.

It has been unlucky that your Messenger
came here on Sunday as it rendered it im¬
possible for me to dispatch him as soon as
I would have wished.

I am Sir Yours &c.
