Mrs Ferguson
I regret very much that I omitted in my
last to advise for your Mother but my hurry to get
your medicines and to overtake your Courier occasioned
it. On the other page I have given a prescription
which I hope shall be of service to her but I
have not thought it necessary to send it from
this place because I am certain that every
Surgeon in Dunfermline has the medicinal
hand and in good condition. Let your Mother
take it every day to the quantity that may
be necessary to move her belly a little and after
every dose of it let her wash it down with
about a gill of Barley water. If it at all in¬
creases her urine it will be of great service
to her. Wishing it enough I am
