For Captn Maxwell
Take two ounces of Chalk and one drachm of powdered Cinnamon. Mix and label as Stomachic Powder. A teaspoon to be taken in a cup of whey or water when any disorder of the stomach or bowels may seem to require it.
Take two drachms of a mass of Thebaic pills. Divide in pills, each of five grains. Label as anodyne pills. One, two or three for a dose at bedtime when threatened with looseness or when restless from severe coughing.
