For Mr Sturrock

I had yours of the 11th yesterday. I hope you are in a better way than
you was tho your disease as constitutional, must be tedious.
I think Mustard has had very good effect & should be continued.
I dont doubt but you have also been the better of the Mineral
water
, & you should continue this for several weeks as it may
prevent the growth of bile. For the same purpose I have given
a Prescription below -- While the season continues tolerable you
should take what exercise you can & by all these means, I hope
your complaints shall at length be relieved. Mr Alexander
Wood is in England so that I cannot have his assistance
but I have advised you as well as I can.

Take an ounce each of powdered root of wild valerian, powdered Prepared Steel and vitriolated tartar; two drachms of of grated Nutmeg ; an ounce-and-a-half of orange peel conserve, and enough simple Syrup to make an Electuary. the bigness of a nutmeg twice a day - an hour before dinner & before supper.
