Mr H. Bruce Concerning the Revd Mr Munro of Farr.


Time of life and continuance of his this disease render
my assistance doubtfull.


Bleeding Ambiguous - but if any affection of his
kidnies should return with a frequent and full
Pulse
you might take some blood.


As to his Palsy keep his belly regular - an Issue
on his
head & use some preparation of Guaiac either a Strong Decoction or he Volatile Elixir
from fifty to a hundred drops in some white
wine whey hora somni 1 Dovers Powder not safe
Mercurial Preparations hazardous. Antimonial
Ones
might be safer. - employed sometimes to
Vomit more frequently to nauseate or so

or so managed as to supply the place of
other Purgatives.


Cold bathing ambiguous; and Tonics
not very promising & often employed might
do harm.


So far with regard to internal remedies


As to external must be adjusted as you
think fit --


I shall be obliged to you for the Petechial
Fever
, surely a rare occurrence in Caithness. 2
