Dr Hall Concerning Mr Sanderson

Origin of the disease obscure. The Brain affected whether by
translation or Primary? The blistering's very proper & I believe
the Bleedings but I would not be confident in pushing this last
as some thing transitory in the Delirium makes me doubt if the
Affection is purely inflammatory. Proper to attend to the State
of his belly. Let your Laxative if you use one by the Mouth
(which I think will be very proper) be gentle & cooling & repeat as
you think fit - - You have properly omitted the Infusum
Corticis
but I think the Spiritus Vitrioli tenuis maybe continued and tho' I have
said above that the topical inflammation is doubtfull I would
lean to every Antiphlogistic measure even tho from the moveable
State of his pains something gouty may be suspected. In the
mean time I see no proper evidence of Gout & tho there were
more more I don't think its attacks on the Brain can be treated
with my Stimulant or Heating things -- I would try Camphire
along with what you are using. It is not heating & is
powerfully Antispasmodic when used freely -- If his Mania
returns a Waitscoat necessary
