To Mr Davidson Surgeon at Kinross
For Mr Stewart.


Glad that he is free of all fever & Phthis. symptoms & hope he
shall have no farther trouble than with might arise from some little sup¬
puration
of his Gums: No security against a Caries of the socket.
No objection to your Tinct. of Myrrh. but not plug up too
close & prevent the discharge of the matter. I hope with little
application the Caries will throw off. For that & to recover his
strength. half a drachm of Bark 3 times a day for a week or fortnight
If any spasmodic disorder in the mean time continue, give the Lauda¬
num
freely. The dose from trial, but large rather than small
