To Mr Corn. Inglis Query Miss Brounlee

The affections of her Eye & Ear are of the same nature viz
Scrophulous. Little Service from Mercury, more to be expected
from Salt Water. Instead of going to the Sea or having water
brought to Lanerk I have found the following as effectu¬
al.

Sal. Gl. ℥ij Sal. marin. Sal. polychrest. aa ℥ſs.
Aq. font. ℥viij Solve et Cola S. Aperient Soln. two table
Sp.fulls, mixed with a muchkin of Spring water to be taken
Every morng. at divided draughts in the manner of a Mineral
Water
. - Take two ounces of Glauber's Salts, Sea salt and polychrest Salts, of each half an ounce; eights ounces of spring water. Dissolve, and strain. Label Aperient Solution, two tablespoonfuls, mixed with a muchkin of Spring water to be taken Every morning at divided draughts in the manner of a Mineral Water.

This is to keep her belly regular & if more or less, the dose
is to be increased or diminished - To be continued for a Month

As to yourself. After having had the Gout for so long
a time, difficult to preserve the Strength of your limbs.

Friction is the only thing I can advise, gentle but long
continued - If your legs & ancles are not liable to be
Swelled, it may be of service to immerce your feet &
legs in warm water once or twice a week before going
to bed in the Evening. ---------
