For Mr Harkness


A coldness & weakness of one side
guarding against cold
Using frequent but moderate exercise. A middle diet. &
Temporance in drinking.

Take one drachm Gum guaiacum, half a drachm each of Aloes socoterine and Crystal Tartar Rub together into a powder then add one drachm Extract of Gentian and with a sufficient quantity of Mucilago of Arabic gum as to make a mass to be divided into single pills of five grains. Label: Aperient pills three for a dose at bedtime. to be increased or diminished as occasion may require.
