Receive a parcel &c.

One paper is to be put into a teapot & to haue one muchkin of
boiling water powred upon it: Let it stand in a warm place for twelve hours
& then strain it thro' a bit of linnen & out to the strained liquor two
table spoonfuls of French brandy. Let the liquor be put into a muchkin
bottle to be close corked & set in a cold place.

When this liquor is to be used the bottle to be set for 2 or 3 minutes
in a bason of boiling water, dipping in the bottle by degrees that it
may ↑not↑ break with the sudden heat, at the same time take out the Cork.

Every time the Child goes to stool & has a dose the fundament to
be [sopped?] with a piece of linnen fourfold dipt in the strengthening
liquor & this whether the fundament be come out or not. When the fundament
has come out, the part fallen out to be bathed & at the same time press¬
ing it gently with the wet cloth it is to be put up as soon as possible.

Not necessary that this liquor be warm when employed, only that it be
not cold but when the gut is fallen out it should be warmer than when
employed for bathing the fundament only.
