My Dear Sir

After I had the pleasure of seeing you on the 13th. Ultimo,
having heard from my wife that she continued pretty well, I went
over to Fife to spend a few days with an Acquaintance & was,
by the badness of the weather, detained there till a few days ago.
On my coming home, I found She had had the Catamenia at
the time I was with you in Edinburgh, which was seven weeks from
it's former appearince; but of this She gave me no notice for
fear of Alarming me. The Flow continued for the usual time,
five or Six days, And the quantity discharged was rather under
than above what had been usual when in health. Neither the
State of her health, or Complaints have, I think, suffered any al¬
teration by it; her Appetite is good, the Excretions regular, And
the swellings of the Extremities much as before. It is now three
weeks since the last, and one week to the next natural Period.
Exercise and stirring about would be necessary, if the weather would
permitt. would it be advisable to put her on any thing of the
aperient or Antispasmodic kind? -- It will make me very
happy to hear from you, when you can spare as much time

I am with great Respect & Esteem
Dear Sir
You much oblidged & most faithfull
humble Servant
John Aird
