In the month of November 83 I had your advice
concerning my daughter (then going in her 13th. year) who
had been very much afflicted with a bad humur ever since
she had had the smallpox. The application's that were
made in consequence of your prescriptions had almost
an instantaneous effect & in a few weeks there was not the
least appearance of the dissorder. She has had no return
of the complaint till lately, it has appeard about her
Eyes & they are so bad that she is prevented from attending any
part of her education. The surgeon who attends my family
to whom I gave your receipt has lost or mislaid the same
which lays me under the Necessity of troubling you Sir and
I take the Liberty to request that you will send me a prescription
what you may judge best for her – which will very much
oblige ––––
