I wrote you some weeks ago and ---
Inclosed Mr. Cathcarts letter when he mentioned his age
about 64 he has always lived verey temperate of a
lax make not of a Robust form but a tollerable good
Constitution so far as I can Judge -- -- I was with him
two or three days lately, when his breathing became
uneasie, but not in bed the blister was applyed --
which give him ease and discharged a Good quantity
of thin watery matter, the third day after, the discharge
was so little that I put to the blister again for ten or
twelve hours, when it run more then double the ---
quantity for seven or Eight days, his breathing now
quaite easie in any position sleeps well turn which
way he will with his head raither lower then ---
Common his appetite Good, has no demand for drink
but to his food ----- I put the pea issues into his
legs, next day was much difficulted to get them out
as they had sunk into the Celluar. membrane, keept
them in for some days, they became uneasie and
swelld Inflamed give him pain was obliged to take
them out, one of them still rains a watery substance
they were put in twelve days ago --- his pulse --
has been variable form 60 to 70 at most with a kind
of a throb (or [stozy?]) every 5th. 8th. or tenth strock I have
not been with with him for some days past -----
He had no use for any Laxative as he has had a
motion once twice some times three a day which
he says most be from the the squill wine as he was
takeing no other madecine his Urine Still Clear and
plenty of it

His legs has not fallen of the swelling for several weeks
past in tollerable good spirits takes little Exercise
in spaite of all that can be said to him ----
I was from home for some days past my Lad in
the shop showed me a prescription from a Doctor
Hay from Bath or Ipswitch for mr Cathcart such
as Gum Gamboag with pulv. Cream. tart., three
dosess was ordered the Doctor stays at a friends house
within two English miles of Mr. Cathcart I could
not pass from Informing you I am -----
