I received yours this morning for which you have
my grateful acknowledgements.
I have just time to inform you that the bearer
of this is –––– Leveck a boy concerning whom I con¬
sulted you some time ago; he has been deaf ever since
he had the Scarlet Fever, and at present, I understand
his friends have some apprehensions, that he is also
at particular times rather insane, but as I have
not seen him for above half a year I cannot speak
to particulars. What ever plan you may think
proper to propose, I shall take care to have put in
execution. By the same opportunity I take the liberty
of sending you a copy of the Bills of Mortality for last
year and should be happy if you had leisure to make any
observations on the case of Ann Liddle.
I will not fail to inform you

of the event of the case of Diabetes, which I am afraid
will terminate at last in the same way as that
disorder usually does; at present appearances are
not so favourable as they were when I wrote last.
That you may continue to enjoy good health
for a series of years is the sincere wish of your
P.S. I believe the boy's friends would wish that Dr Monro might
also be consulted especially with regard to the complaint
in his ears. be kind enough to present my respectful
compliments to Dr Monro and inform him I received his kind letter
and mean to return him my sincere thanks in a little
time.
