Dear Sir,
Inclos'd I send you Miss
Mary Pearith's own written account of her
Feelings since the change in her Disorder, and
only wish to observe that preceding the Dis¬
charge, she has uniformly complain'd of Pain
& Fullness in the Region of the Pelvis, attended
with the Piles /tho' moderately open in her Belly /
to a very great degree, that upon the Evacu¬
ation she became easy and able to bear motion,
the Piles then disappear'd and a Soreness
was the only Uneasiness till the discharge
caus'd, when all her Complaints return'd &
continue, there having been no Discharge
of Blood with her Urine since the 13th: instant
when it appear'd to pass with her Water as
pure as if taken from the arm, but upon
cooling separated & fell to the Bottom of the
Vessel nor Cou'd I perceive any Matter mix'd
with it -- Can you suppose this affection
[Page 2]
of the Bladder to be similar to varicose veins
which fill and occasionally empty them¬
selves I will be oblig'd to you for your
opinion on this Head & must also till
you treat since this Discharge of Blood
which was between two and three Ounces,
she has not menstruated at the usual
Time altho she never before went beyond
the Day, which shou'd have been last
Wednesday -
She has now taken the mercurial Pills
12 days, they agree very well and her
mouth is beginning to be very slightly
affected -- I shall minutely attend
to your Directions at this stage of the
Course and am Dear Sir your obliged
humble Servant
