Dear Doctor

I now [write to] inform you with respect to the
State of my health through the winter and the Situation I am in
at present in the fall of the year my Complaints were in a
great measure removed. About the first of November I had a
Boil upon my right loin which I was not a little benifited by
at least I thought So for while it continued to ulcer which I pro¬
moted as long as I could I was entirely free of the pain in mt Side.
About Christmas the pain returned I blistered repeatedly which
removed it for three weeks then it returned I repeated the blistering
a Second time and from then to the first of April I was almost
free of Complaints When I was Obliged to blister again the good
Effects of which went off in five or Six days The pain at present
is more violent than it was any time during the Winter. The
Cough Seldom or never troubles me Always when best I Spitt a gross
yellowish matter
which even comes off without Coughing my Regi¬
men has been conform to the directions you prescribed not deviating
therefrom once in a month. My appetite is good. There is Seldom a day
passes but I am on Horseback if it is dry Besides in the Course of
the Winter and Spring ↑have↑ taken two or three journeys to the distance
of a hundred miles and as I always took particular care not to get wet
I never was the Worse of the jaunt tho the Weather betimes was very
Chilly The Effects of blistering is of Such Short duration that I am
doubtfull with respect to the propriety thereof I Therfore will be very
happy to have your advice in Course with the greatest respect I am
