I am now to inform yow, that I began with
the Aperient Oil and got the Length of 60 drops when I found
my Stomach a good deal disordered on which account I
ommitted them yesternight and do not mean to take any
more untill I hear from yow If yow think it is matterial
I will begin a new Course and take them again the Swelling
About my kne and halfway up my Right Thigh is
very high just now; their is still also a degree of a swelling
about the Haunch an hip joint, but not considerable.
Still a great weakness in my Right thigh, and I can
bear no weight upon that Leg, but I am Able now to
walk two or three times round the Room upon Crutches
and am able to put the sore Leg foremost and take a pretty
good Step with it, only as I said before I dare not lean the
least weight upon it, nor press it to the ground. I dare not
Sitt yet for the pain in the back joint of my hip but I
Suppose the walking round the room while they are making
my Bed two or three times a day is better exercise and
will make up for want of Sitting out of Bed I suppose
I should not use the Anodyne Oil now when the --
Swellings are raised I mean the Oil yow prescribed for
taking away the Stinging without yow think it might
still be of use for carrying off the pain in the Hip
joint And in some kind of leaders which go down

from it along the under part of the Thigh the Carrier
will call upon yow About the end of next week with
money in the mean time I shall be impatient to hear
from yow

P.S. The swelling at the Knee is very Cold I
frequently Rubb it with warm fflannel as well as
the Pain will allow which is not quite so Accute as
before the swelling raise.
