The Letter I last wrote you, was
sent by the post, the neglect must have
been at the post Office Edinburgh as I know
our post Mistress here, to be very carefull.
I have been in use for these some years
to give the infusion of the Bark made with
cold soft water, sometimes I make it with
boiling water, altho' I think that made
with the cold water is the best, if suffered
to stand long enough, & both preferrable
to the Decoction, & I have the farther pleasure
of having my opinion strengthened by your
better Judgement. I shall begin Miss Home
with the infusion tomorrow, & if any thing
material happens, shall be sure to let
you know. Wishing you the favor of the
Almighty, which is far better than the
earth
