Upon Opening the Abdomen of Miss F. S. the
Spleen, uncommonly large, presented itself,
extending over the Intestines to the right Ileum
& resting it's Edge upon the Brim of the Pelvis;
yet this amazing Bulk had provided no extra¬
ordinary Hardness, it's Parenchyma being
nearly as soft as usual; nor did there appear
any thing preternatural except it's size &
a proportionable Increase in the Diameter
of it's vessels --

All the other Viscera were in a remarkable
sound & healthful state.
