Whittingham August 18: 1779 --------

Dear Sir /


I have followed your directions punctually, in taking the medicines
as described, and likewise the time in writing to you. ----


But after all I dont find the least Relief By them, ----


But have all the former Complaints to as Great a degree
as ever. --- I rest Extremely ill at Night, and if
I have any Intervals of ease it ↑is↑ in the morning But
it is very little. --- I never fail to be Severely Pained
when there is a Crooking in my Stomach and Bowels which
may easily be Perceiv'd By any Standing By. ---
I hope Sir, you will not fail in Answering this as Soon
as it Comes to Hand, and I doubt not will Exert your¬
Self n according to the undoubled Character you have Justly
Meritte'd; and the Great abilities you are So [imnunet?] for
Thro the three Kingdoms. ---


in and whatever you are Pleasd farther to Perscribe Shall
apply to Doctor Gair for, as soon as they Come to hand. ---
as I have thank no Good, ↑no↑ reason to Plead poverty and ↑as↑ I value
My health above all things also in the world; you ↑will↑ Please to
let me know what farther demands you have on me and I
shall discharge it with Pleasure either by Mr Howeys
Clark or any you Shall Please to appoint to received it.


And I am Sir you most Obedient Humble Servant
