you will please receive this from Mr Brodie
who I have Sent to advise with you about his bad
state of health, occasione, I humbly think, from the
Gout affecting Several parts, especially his Stomach.
Some months ago when I Saw him first, I ordered
for him Hot aromatic bitters, infused in wine, which
then had the effect to help him ---- A few days
ago I Saw him again & ordered an Electuary made
of Peruvian bark, powder of Zedoary, with Syr. e
Cor. Aurant. & repeated the former bitters to be
taken along with the Electuary, but without relief
I would gladly have given him a Vomit, but his
Constitution forbids it --- His case is very threat¬
ening, and his Strength falling off fast -- He will
tell you all his complaints himself to which I
refer for your more information, I always am with
great Esteem------
