I hope You will excuse this trouble, given you by a stranger, uterly un¬
acquainted with you: the reason of which I shall give you, in as few words as I
can - I am a man about 32 years ↑age↑ and has for this 10 or 12 years bygone, been
afflicted with Nocturnal Emissions, in my sleep, which has a good deal weak¬
ned me, they happened at first, regularly, about once in a week or for fortni¬
ght, for some years bypast, they have been less frequent, and seldom return oftner
now, then once a Moneth, notwithstanding I am very subject, to involuntry Er¬
ection, when in bed - Aded to the above about 7 years since I happened to
overheat myself at work, and neglecting to put on my cloaths; till I became
cool, I was soon afterwards, seized with a Cholick, which always attacked me
when I began to sweat at work, for a year afterwards: when it intirely
subsided: but from the first time that I was taken with it, I became very
subject to Costiveness, and when straining, at stool, has frequently observed
the Spermatick matter, to come down or Ooze: I have taken several times,
some gentle Physick, to keep my belly open, but when I leave it of the
obstruction always returns -- I likewise used the cold bath, for the first com¬
plaint, but as it rather increased the costiveness, it did me no good: the
bathing the Genitals; without immersing my whole body, I thought had
more effect. I have used no more medicines, then I have discribed, I
have lived a year, mostly upon a milk diet, with Bread, which has at
least, kept me from growing worse, but as yet, has been unsuccesful in
making a cure -- As my troubles, are of such an ancient date I know
it would be foolish, to expect to get ridd of them in a short time, but
if I had any medicine, that would diminish the propensity to Errection,
and keep my belly moderately open, I think my cure would be at hand -
As I think my complaints originates, intirely, from this, and the first thing I
have informed you of ---
N: B I am very easily affected with cold or uneasy chillness: I have a
tolerable good appetite, but must not indulge it much, or else I frequently
feel, an uneasy fulness, arise in my Stomach, after Meals; I observe that
hard or Solid food is lighter with me then soft, or liquid food is: I never
have a stool oftner then once in two days, sometimes three: but I think
my Urine, is fully as much, as all the liquid food, or drink that I take -
