The Consultation Letters of Dr William Cullen (1710-1790) at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh
[ID:1109] From: Mr Joseph Sanderson / To: Dr William Cullen (Professor Cullen) / Regarding: Mr Joseph Sanderson (Patient) / 15 January 1775 / (Incoming)
Letter from Joseph Sanderson in Gatesgill, regarding his own case, confirming that Cullen's earlier prescription has been strengthening his stomach but reporting that he now has an 'itch' on his hands which he believes he caught 'by laying with a person' (though this does not imply any sexual contact, since bed-sharing was a common practice, especially when staying at inns). He sends payment of a guinea.
