Worthy Sir

I duely received your favour relating
my Father. He has took the medecine you
were so good as order which agree very well with
him, but he is reduc'd now so weak that I
think he cannot hold it many days, however
he is very desirous of my mentioning what
you desir'd to know in your letter to D.r Richardson
/who is at present from home/. The quantity
of Urine is much about the same quantity he
takes of Liquids. His Skin is rather cold &
dry than otherwise. His flesh is almost en¬
tirely gone
, and I observe tonight he has
lost his voice
and has a kind of Ruttling, -

- If you can think of any thing that can be
of Service to him so as to keep him easy, it
will I dare say be all that can be done - and I'l
be greatly oblig'd for a line [@?] 1.st post if [Convenient?]
directed to me. -- Toward night his pulse
is very quick & extreamly weak.

[Page 2]

Thank God I keep very well - have a
Good appetite
& every other good Symtom
but a little cough sometime of the day but never
at night -- Pray should I rather take a little
Rhenish and water rather than small beer
-- I keep good Hours, use exercise & tast no
salt, but mostly fresh white meats, &
never enjoyd a better State of health in my life
than at present, only the little cough which is
not Troublesome but would like to be rid of it.
Have put on my flannel again next my
skin which has been of infinite Service to me.

I am Dear Sir
Your Most Oblig'd Humble Servant
Jn.o Grey junr
Alnwick 14. January 1775

N.B. My Father has
no Appetite for any
kind of flesh meat

nor can he tast it.
