For Mr Henry Watt.

Wait for a better season. Guard the limbs against
cold & do not strain them by attempting to walk before you
are able
.

Take two drachms of Gum Guaiacum. Half an ounce of pure White Sugar Crush all three together into a powder to form a Mucilage with three drachms of thick gum Arabic. Crush again and little by little soak in six ounces of simple Cinnamon Water, two ounces of peppermint water and one ounce of compound of Tincture Sennae as found in the Pharmacopoeia Edinensis. 2 Mix. Label: Aperient mixture. A table spoonful at bed time.

This will favour perspiration & keep your belly regular
but if it fail in doing the latter, increase the dose by half a
spoonful or a whole spoonful.
