Case note concerning Miss A. (Ann) Cook, who 'had very good health & spirits till two or three years ago when she began to complain of the same symptoms as her brother', Edward Cook of Togston. She has had a 'nettle sting' rash, hysteria, weight loss, and now has notably swollen neck glands. The writer (probably her surgeon and brother-in-law, Andrew Fogo, according to Doc ID 5306) warns that 'The constitution of the family is particularly delicate'.8? July 1786

Reply 'For Miss A. Cook', to an unnamed physician. Cullen ascribes her ailments to 'some fault in her blood'. He provides a regimen, for medicines, diet and bathing her neck, with several prescriptions. These are to be administered under Mr Fogo's direction.11 July 1786
