Letter from Dr Charles Keith, chiefly giving the case of Gabriel Dun(n), aged 70, who suffers from jaundice and abdominal swelling. He is poor, and has a hemiplegic wife. Mention is also made of Miss Marr and Mr Potts.11 February 1787

Letter from Charles Keith, concerning John Cook of Gallowhill and Miss Marr. Cook is described as 'that unaccountable Oddity', who is still drinking excessively, to the extent that his hands are shaking, and his legs swollen. Miss Marr's cough has improved since visiting the coast, although she now has a knee ailment. Dr Keith outlines the medical history of her late parents and of her brother.29 July 1787

Cullen admits he is 'truly at a loss what to do with John Cook', because of his inability to live regularly, but he raises the possibility of trying the Peterhead waters and encloses two prescriptions. He recommends that Miss Marr returns to the sea coast, and believes her knee ailment to be gout.31 July 1787
