Reply in Cullen's own hand, concerning the case of Miss Hog, written to her father (Thomas Hog of Newliston). Cullen diagnoses 'some fixed obstruction in the left side of her Lungs'. He recommends wearing flannel, advises on diet and the use of Tussilago, and on exercise using a swing. He sends compliments the patient's mother, Lady Mary, and to Robert Kirkland, who seems to be the practitioner on the case, and also attended her mother's family, the Maitlands. 6 October 1789
