Sir

All the materials for the Infusion have come
safe: but since I wrote last Lady Mary to the pain in her
stomach has had ↑frequently↑ a Sickishness and at one time threw up some
mouthfulls of Phlegm
but not discoloured; at another time
after having an uneasiness like the Heart burn threw up some
mouthfulls of a bitterish taste but not discoloured
but at
neither time did she get any relief from the pain - Would
it be proper for her to take a Vomit in this case? ---

She was one day on Horseback for some hours but got not
the least degree of appetite
for she can hardly taste any
kind of Food. She seldom is dry but when she takes any
Drink, Goat whey excepted, She feels an uneasiness something
like the Heart burn. The disorder in her Stomach has
encreased to such a degree that She has not been able to take
the Goat whey regularly, but what she takes of it, always
sits easier than any other kind of Liquor: but as for Meat
she can take none. She complains of a pain and windiness
in her Stomach when empty, and ↑a while↑ after eating any thing She
feels Sickish - What she takes of your Electuary just keeps

her free of an absolute Boundness
but when she takes as much
of it as to make it act as a Laxative it makes her stomach
very uneasy: during those times that she feels the pains
and wind in her Stomach She has a difficulty in making water.
The things are infused and She is to begin to take it tomorrow:
As She has an appetite for no kind of Potables, Please to
let me know what sort of Food is most proper for her,
to force herself to take. I should have delayed writing
till after Lady Mary had made a trial of the Infusion etcetera
had it not been to ask, if you, Sir, approve of her taking
a Vomit
, which please to let me know by first post.

I with great regard am Sir
your most obedient
humble Servant
R. Menzies

you may depend on Lady Mary's not taking any
other persons prescription along with yours She
desires her kind Compliments to you and Mrs. Cullen
and your young Family in which I join ---
